Hi Gloria.......... thank you so much for writing about my work. No, I have not tried photo transfer other than a few small pieces of my own work..and it was not a whole photo, just a fragment in black and white added to collage and encaustic. I have transferred remnants of pencil drawings as well. I have a black and white laser but not a color one. I am a little unsure of how long colored copies would hold up to UV rays. Technology is wonderful though and it will probably be fine, especially as they perfect these things.
If you love encaustic you should try to make it to one of the encaustic conferences......Joanne Materra's is in Provincetown, MA every year.
Thanks again for your comments.

Cheryl, I really love your paintings. They are so inspiring to me. I have not ever written a "fan mail" to another artist. Your paintings, especially the encaustic ones. I don't know how I found your website. I'm a photographer and have been painting with encaustics for over 7 years. I love encaustic paint and these are fine examples. I wonder if you have ever tried photo transfer with encaustic? IT's tough because the older laser copy/printers are now tough to find as they are phased out of the market. That is my challenge to combine encaustic with photo transfer. But, I'm really loving your abstracts. Thanks! Gloria

I do believe you nailed that number! I think this is wonderful and I liked it even before I read all the symbolism etc. I love using symbolism in my work and the key is to keep it from being too literal and I think you did a great job on it! Super piece...blue ribbons your way!!!!
